BIOGRAPHY
Life is the sum of all your choices.
Albert Camus

I am a German-American graduate engineer (Dipl.-Ing. Architektur) and amateur photographer looking for moments to capture.
For me beauty lies in the individuality, authenticity and the imperfection of life. It is created by the unique reflection of the sun, the play of the clouds and the unexpected. Beauty can be found in the oldest ramshackle hut as well as in the most daring and technically challenging skyscraper - and, for sure, everywhere in-between. And this applies to every aspect of life...
It is the moment, the feeling, the view that can never be recreated, relived, 're'viewed that I want to catch and to cherish and to be grateful for - the situations that make every life unlike any other, the moments that make our lives worth living,
I deliberately choose black and white photography in order to emphasize this beauty and those moments - the plasticity of art and detail, the interaction of light and shadow - just to focus on the essential. There is no photoshop needed - no altering of a moment required - not even wanted, because such a change would be pretense and rob the moment of its distinctiveness, its originality, its own self.
